Awa looks up at the beautiful but imposing shrine from a safe distance in the early morning, hoping against hope that she is allowed at least this close. She finds it too breathtaking to ignore. Slowly, she lowers her eyes and kneels, and then begins to pray.
"I invoke your name, our Great Creator, and the names of your faithful servants of Time, Space, and Demension. Please, keep the inhabitants of your world safe from harm and tragedy, and whenever that is not possible, grant me to the power to save and heal all that I can. I wish for nothing else in this world."
She claps her hands one as a signal of the end of her prayer, and then looks back up, eyes opening slowly. For some time she simply sits and stares, content for now to clear her mind and be awed by the power of the gods' presence on earth. Then, she slowly rises, and dusts off her kimonos. She has work to attend to, and she cannot do as she promised if she is not healing as many people as she can. She doesn't look back as she walks away, but she does stop, and takes in a deep breath, readying herself for another day, and with the next step she takes, she smiles.
They have given her the will to continue on into another day. She will return tomorrow, as always.
